Sudhir More, a former corporator of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, allegedly died by suicide near Ghatkopar railway station on Thursday night. The railway police have booked a woman with whom Sudhir More was allegedly said to have been in a relationship.
The complaint was lodged by his son against the woman, who is an advocate by profession.
The probe has revealed that before the alleged suicide, More last spoke to this woman.
More, 62, was a corporator from Parksite-Vikhroki (Ward 123) area. He was associated with the Shiv Sena but was denied a ticket by the party in the 2017 BMC elections. He had, however, continued his association with the party and was associated with the Shiv Sena’s Thackeray faction. He was also the party’s Sampark Pramukh for Ratnagiri district.
More was found dead near the fast-line railway tracks near Ghatkopar railway station. His body was taken to Rajawadi hospital. “No suicide note was found with the body or at the incident site,” said a GRP officer.
The railway CCTV installed nearby captured the incident, showing he died by suicide.

He had left his home by saying that he was going out to attend a meeting. Later, his body was found near the Ghatkopar station.
A Government Railway Police officer said that on the basis of a complaint by More’s son, Kurla GRP has registered a case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code against a woman lawyer who was allegedly having an affair with him. She would be summoned soon to join the probe and record her statement, said another officer.
The police will record the statement of the motorman of the local train to establish how exactly the incident took place.
