A Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man on the false assurance of marriage in North Delhi, the police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi said the complainant stated that she met the accused through an organisation four years ago, and they became friends.
On April 3, she was at his flat when he suddenly assured her he would marry her and made physical relations with her, said the police.
“Now, he has refused to marry her, and she is receiving appropriate counselling. A case has been registered, and the accused is currently absconding,” said the DCP.
